Well, to begin with you need to be following and checking into the social media examiner (www.socialmediaexaminer.com). Here you will find fresh, relevant, and useful information on how to boost your social media efforts. Second, you need to check out the upcoming Social Media Success Summit. Social Media Examiner, headed up by Michael Stelzner, is hosting this annual summit which is held entirely online.

The Social Media Success Summit runs from May 3rd – May 26th, spread over 4 weeks and divided up into 20 one-hour sessions. Sounds like a huge commitment? Well, each session is recorded and downloadable so you can catch up when you have the time. The sessions will be taught by 22 of the webs leading social media experts, including; Jay Baer (co-author, The NOW Revolution), Michael Stelzner (founder, Social Media Examiner), Mari Smith (co-author, Facebook Marketing: An Hour a Day), Brian Solis (author, Engage: The Complete Guide to Building, Cultivating, and Measuring Success in the Social Web), plus 18 other successful and highly-influential leaders of social media.

During the course of this entirely online summit, you will discover the best and newest ways to market yourself and your business. Right now you can sign-up for a free session to see what all the fuss is about and if you decide to join the summit they are currently offering an early bird 50% off. I recently attended the Blogging Success Summit and it was well worth the price. I have to admit though, I still have a few sessions to catch up on, but the lessons learned have put me months ahead of where my learning curve was taking me without it.

I recommend you check out the Social Media Success Summit, and if its not for you then just check in to the Social Media Examiner from time to time, I’m sure you will learn a lot. Cheers.

Blogging Success Summit 2011

Posted by Joshua Currier

Blogging Success Summit 2011The Social Media Examiner (www.socialmediaexaminer.com) is putting on the entirely online Blogging Success Summit starting in February. 23 blogging experts will be presenting to help you master business blogging.

The list of experts includes Technorati CEO Richard Jalichandra, Darren Rowse (Author, ProBlogger), Debbie Weil (co-author, Corporate Blogging for Dummies), and Michael Steizner (Social Media Examiner), just to name a few.

According to eMarketer, by 2012 a significant number of U.S. companies (43%), will be marketing through blogging. These companies realize that blogging is the new edge in marketing. More than 4,400 marketers and business owners from around the world attended the last two summits and 95% of participants say they will be attending again. Who knows, maybe your competition will be there learning something.

I will be attending the summit when it begins February 1st, 2011. The normal cost is $597 but by joining early there is a 50% discount, taking the cost to just $43 a session. The best part is that even though all of these sessions are live, everyone who attends automatically receives session recordings and transcripts that will never be available to anyone else.

The event is limited to only 2500 people and as of writing this about 500 tickets have already been sold. Don’t miss out on your chance for this event! Click Here to learn more!

Quick update

Posted by Joshua Currier

Alright, well I got off to a slow start there. Allowed myself to get caught up with a few other things but I am back on it. I have recently set up a new website for my niche which I will get into later or you can figure out fairly easily I’m sure. The site is SEO Software for Mac dot com.

I have grown quite a considerable number (in my opinion) of twitter followers, I am nearing 2K followers after being active for only a month and a half. I’ll talk about this in an upcoming post as well.

In the meantime I am going to try and figure out why my site is loading so slowly, or you can help by giving me some tips in the comments below. And I will also be working to get traffic to my new site as well as this one and see if I can’t get myself a first page ranking in google.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Here we go!

Posted by Joshua Currier

Today is the 11th of November. Time to start doing. At this point, other than my wife, I am basically the only person who knows about this site and I am using it because I have it. I originally started it with the intention of becoming a social media manager but since learning of several other ways of doing business online I think I am going to go in a different direction.

So, whats the plan? I have a baby on the way and I am so excited! I would like to give her a beautiful life and be able to provide her. I am currently in school and am a business coach but I wouldn’t mind some extra money coming in and there seems to be a lot of people making passive income online. There seems to be an endless supply of information and “tricks” out there on how to get your website to the top spots and how to make money with blogs. In the past few months I have learned a lot of stuff and I think its about time to see if it works.

Over the next few months I will be tracking my efforts and the tools I use to see if I can make this site POP! By the way, it is a wordpress site built by me with no previous knowledge of web design.

Today’s snapshot:
-No product.
-No traffic.
-No content (except this post and one from several months ago which is unrelated).
-No links.
-Very few (6) followers on Twitter.

Goals:
-Get traffic: I’m not sure what a good target is so lets just start with 100 unique visitors by the 20th of November.
-Sign-up for Affiliate programs of the tools I will be using. (Product)
-Build up 100 followers on Twitter by the 20th as well.

I’ll be posting about the tools and their results in following posts. Any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Here we go!

-Josh
